Open Solutions Group, Inc. selected to develop the San Diego Regional Emergency Geospatial Information Network (SDREGIN)

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, March 1, 2009 - Open Solutions Group, Inc. (OpenSGI) in partnership with GeoDecisions/Gannet Fleming was recently selected by San Diego State University Research Foundation to develop the San Diego Regional Emergency Geospatial Information Network (SDREGIN) Implementation Strategy.

The objective of SDREGIN is to provide a secure spatial data architecture supporting the San Diego Metropolitan region’s diverse emergency response and public safety agencies. As an integral part of the project team, OpenSGI will complete a strategic plan, enterprise spatial data model, establish cross agency spatial data integration strategies, and develop an enterprise data integration pilot project. When complete, coordinating agencies will be able to share information pertaining to critical infrastructure and resources in support of emergency management operations. SDREGIN will provide first responders with improved communications and spatial data interoperability technologies allowing them to increase response times and improve real time emergency response decision making.
